Over The Edge 3 Cd Set (Plus Track Listings & Reviews)

When The Edge was released about 2 years ago, it was such a hit that MusicSpace decided that they had to do it again. This time, they're keeping the formula, the packaging and even the name. The new 3 cd set is called Over The Edge.

Just like it's predecessor, Over The Edge is packed with 50 tracks from bands you know and love (or hate) and promises three hours of high energy, rocking music.

The cd has pretty much the same bands as The Edge with some new ones and I think I spotted a couple repeats but overall it's still another great collection. See the track list after the video.

Over the Edge is available right now at Musicspace.

16. Sour Girl | Stone Temple Pilots
17. I'd Do Anything | Simple Plan
18. Higher | Creed

In my opinion, disc 3 is the weakest of the entire collection. For starters, they have Creed (for the second time) with Higher. Kryptonite was on The Edge and Crazytown's Butterfly seems to be on every cd. Hoobastank's Running Away was also on The Edge.

If you don't have The Edge then you won't notice it but if you're planning to get this also then disc 3 will be like getting a cd you already have although it does have some different stuff.

It's a good collection nevertheless and would be great if you bought both The Edge and Over the Edge so you'll have 100 tracks with over 6 hours of the music you love.

And if you think this isn't for you, then you can always try High Voltage which features Marilyn Manson, Powerman 5000 and Rob Zombie just to name a few.

Can you really lose weight with Rob Nevins' Skinny Switch Secret Diet?

Some users of the calorie shifting diet have experienced weight loss using the diet and have said so in various forums online.

I did some research on the diet and found that the Skinny Switch Secret was indeed a good diet that can help people to lose weight effectively.

The diet, based on a method called calorie shifting works by tricking the body into metabolizing the stored fat to reach a preset calorie intake level. For example, if you condition your body to expect 1800 calories a day and you only give it 1400, the body burns the other 400 calories from stored fat causing weight loss.

To prevent the plateau phase which is responsible for many dieters giving up on their diets because they stop seeing results, the body is again tricked into "wondering" what the expected calorie level is by going over the base calorie intake level, for instance eating 2000 calories instead of the base 1800.

With this 3 day cycle of consuming different amounts of calories you lose weight regardless of what you eat making the Skinny Switch or rather the calorie shifting method one of the most appealing diets in recent times. You've probably seen the ads where they tell you that you can eat icecream and pizza. Well, I'm pretty sure calorie shifting is involved somehow.

The problem with the Skinny Switch though (no diet is perfect) is that some may find it a little on the expensive side for a weight loss diet. There are other calorie shifting diets available and one of the most popular ones is Fat Loss 4 Idiots which is also another good diet. Instead of counting calories and fighting to prepare meals that will meet the requirements for each day, you pay for the convenience of meal plans and recipes along with other stuff.

Here's an overview of the Skinny Switch Secret Diet where you will find user reviews and other information about the diet.

Tuesday Tunes: Sugar, Sugar...Is it Christmas Already?

This week on Tuesday Tunes, the first artist/song/album/instrument that comes to mind with a word association.

Play along if you like.

1. Sugar

The first song that comes to mind when I hear the word sugar is...

Sugar, Sugar by The Archies which was a #1 hit in 1969 and still never gets old to this day.

2. Little

Little Richard for some reason popped into my head for the word little. You know, "wap bapalula wap bam boom" or some thing like that. I guess I didn't think about rappers like Lil' Kim and Lil' Bow Wow first because they're Lil' rather than "little".

3. Holly

Merry Christmas II YouThis one evokes thoughts of Christmas tunes but none in particular. Just the merry sounds of Christmas tunes on the radio making the season festive.

Speaking of Christmas tunes, Mariah Carey's new Christmas album is available.

4. Tree

Tree I guess is too close to Holly and makes me think yet again about Christmas. Christmas trees? Yeah its that season again.

5. Joy

Joy to the World - a traditional Christmas tune.

6. Night

Three Dog Night - They did a song called Joy to the World. It's because I just looked it up on Whosampled.

7. Cold

Coldplay - which I'm not a big fan of but heard a joke about them today.

8. Home

I'll be Home for Christmas - I guess I either can't get Christmas out of my head now or the person who created the meme was in a festive mood.

9. Travel

Makes me think about Travie McCoy's Billionaire because:

  • Travie sounds like Travel
  • My mom, my sister and I first heard this when we were travelling by car across I-75 from Ft. Lauderdale to Port Charlotte earlier this year.
Great song and I've heard so many covers, parodies and remakes of the song, some funny, some strange and some just awful.

10. Gift

Now I know they were thinking about Christmas. Too bad this last one makes me think about Jay-Z's Blueprint II: The Gift and The Curse

Not exactly Christmas-ish and not exactly classic like The Blueprint (which I own) but that's the first thing that popped into my head.

Tuesday Tunes: Music I'm Thankful For in 2010

This week I'm starting a new series called Tuesday Tunes inspired by a meme started by Music Memoirs. They post a question about music and I'm gonna answer it here.

This weeks question, in keeping with the holiday tradition is "What music are you thankful for in 2010?"

It's kinda tough to answer because I'm not too much into all this new music. I still listen to 90's hip hop a lot.

My Beautiful Dark Twisted FantasySince joining the website, WhoSampled.com, I've discovered a lot of great music that I never knew about and I'm really enjoying those. The funk music of the 70's, soul of the 60's, electronic music and underground hip hop artists that I hadn't heard about.

The only music that I've been interested in this year is recently, the new Kanye West album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I guess this is what I'm most thankful for. Kanye's new album is more than just a hip hop album. The guy, no matter how many times he's called a douchebag, is an artist in that he has created a piece of art that will be cherished for years to come. A timeless masterpiece.

This is the type of music I could listen to in 2010 and beyond and it gives me a break from having to play 90's hip hop albums and listen to more current stuff. That is something to be truly thankful for.

Disc 3 is probably my favorite out of the whole collection because it has on some of my favorite songs on Arena Rock.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides Teaser Trailer Released

I didn't even know they were making another Pirates of the Caribbean movie but now that the teaser trailer has been released I need to go watch Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen these two sequels but would have loved to. The original Pirates of the Caribbean movie was shot in my home country, St. Vincent and the Grenadines which makes it a bit special for me.

Pirates is an interesting adventure/fantasy franchise which I hope they don't beat to death. I mean, can you imagine watching Pirates of the Caribbean X: Jack Sparrow vs Captain Hook?

The Trailer

Pirates of the Caribbean 4 Trailer

The movie is set to be released in 3D in 2011 with Johnny Depp returning as Captain Jack Sparrow.
