Over The Edge 3 Cd Set (Plus Track Listings & Reviews)

When The Edge was released about 2 years ago, it was such a hit that MusicSpace decided that they had to do it again. This time, they're keeping the formula, the packaging and even the name. The new 3 cd set is called Over The Edge.

Just like it's predecessor, Over The Edge is packed with 50 tracks from bands you know and love (or hate) and promises three hours of high energy, rocking music.

The cd has pretty much the same bands as The Edge with some new ones and I think I spotted a couple repeats but overall it's still another great collection. See the track list after the video.

In my opinion, disc 3 is the weakest of the entire collection. For starters, they have Creed (for the second time) with Higher. Kryptonite was on The Edge and Crazytown's Butterfly seems to be on every cd. Hoobastank's Running Away was also on The Edge.

If you don't have The Edge then you won't notice it but if you're planning to get this also then disc 3 will be like getting a cd you already have although it does have some different stuff.

It's a good collection nevertheless and would be great if you bought both The Edge and Over the Edge so you'll have 100 tracks with over 6 hours of the music you love.

And if you think this isn't for you, then you can always try High Voltage which features Marilyn Manson, Powerman 5000 and Rob Zombie just to name a few.

Sugar, Sugar by The Archies which was a #1 hit in 1969 and still never gets old to this day.

2. Little

Little Richard for some reason popped into my head for the word little. You know, "wap bapalula wap bam boom" or some thing like that. I guess I didn't think about rappers like Lil' Kim and Lil' Bow Wow first because they're Lil' rather than "little".

3. Holly

This one evokes thoughts of Christmas tunes but none in particular. Just the merry sounds of Christmas tunes on the radio making the season festive.

Speaking of Christmas tunes, Mariah Carey's new Christmas album is available.

4. Tree

Tree I guess is too close to Holly and makes me think yet again about Christmas. Christmas trees? Yeah its that season again.

Joy to the World - a traditional Christmas tune.

Three Dog Night - They did a song called Joy to the World. It's because I just looked it up on Whosampled.

Coldplay - which I'm not a big fan of but heard a joke about them today.

I'll be Home for Christmas - I guess I either can't get Christmas out of my head now or the person who created the meme was in a festive mood.

My mom, my sister and I first heard this when we were travelling by car across I-75 from Ft. Lauderdale to Port Charlotte earlier this year.

Now I know they were thinking about Christmas. Too bad this last one makes me think about Jay-Z's Blueprint II: The Gift and The Curse.

Not exactly Christmas-ish and not exactly classic like The Blueprint (which I own) but that's the first thing that popped into my head.

Tuesday Tunes: Music I'm Thankful For in 2010

This week I'm starting a new series called Tuesday Tunes inspired by a meme started by Music Memoirs. They post a question about music and I'm gonna answer it here.

This weeks question, in keeping with the holiday tradition is "What music are you thankful for in 2010?"

It's kinda tough to answer because I'm not too much into all this new music. I still listen to 90's hip hop a lot.

Since joining the website, WhoSampled.com, I've discovered a lot of great music that I never knew about and I'm really enjoying those. The funk music of the 70's, soul of the 60's, electronic music and underground hip hop artists that I hadn't heard about.

The only music that I've been interested in this year is recently, the new Kanye West album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy.

I guess this is what I'm most thankful for. Kanye's new album is more than just a hip hop album. The guy, no matter how many times he's called a douchebag, is an artist in that he has created a piece of art that will be cherished for years to come. A timeless masterpiece.

This is the type of music I could listen to in 2010 and beyond and it gives me a break from having to play 90's hip hop albums and listen to more current stuff. That is something to be truly thankful for.

Pirates of the Caribbean 4: On Stranger Tides Teaser Trailer Released

I didn't even know they were making another Pirates of the Caribbean movie but now that the teaser trailer has been released I need to go watch Dead Man's Chest and At World's End.

Surprisingly, I haven't seen these two sequels but would have loved to. The original Pirates of the Caribbean movie was shot in my home country, St. Vincent and the Grenadines which makes it a bit special for me.

Pirates is an interesting adventure/fantasy franchise which I hope they don't beat to death. I mean, can you imagine watching Pirates of the Caribbean X: Jack Sparrow vs Captain Hook?

Sandra Bullock - Best Actress Winner Oscars 2010 + Mo'nique

Sandra Bullock won best actress at the 2010 Academy awards for her performance as Leigh Anne Tuohy in the football movie The Blind Side.

I'm really glad she won the Oscar because I read this morning that she won a Razzie Award for her performance in last year's All About Steve.

This is the first time someone has won an Oscar for Best Actress and a Razzie for Worst Actress in the same year so to me, to quote Chris Brown, its like wow!

I first saw Sandra Bullock in the 1994 movie Speed which is one of my favorite suspense movies. I've seen my share of good performances from Ms Bullock and also some bad ones like the unbelievably bad sequel to Speed.

Congrats to Sandra Bullock, 2010's Best Actress Winner who can now be called Academy Award Winning Actress Sandra Bullock in her next trailer or on her next DVD release.

Also congrats to Mo'nique on her Best Supporting Actress award for her performance in Precious. That is a great accomplishment in African American film.

Dr Phil Relationship Rescue Review

Who doesn't know Dr. Phil? Popular TV personality and relationship expert who is as much a part of pop culture as your favorite actor or musical artist.

So when you need relationship advice ourselves, when things are going tough, its only logical that we either seek out "real world" advice or seek the advice of someone we're already familiar with, who has that credibility we seek. We look no further than Dr. Philip McGraw and his book Relationship Rescue.

With Relationship Rescue, Dr. Philip C. McGraw has done a great amount of work to try and help people put their lives back together after things have fallen apart. This is no different from anything else that he has done on television with his show that brings in people who are in the middle of family crisis. If there are problems that people are having, he will help them find a way to solve it themselves.

While it might be better to have Dr. Phil right there with you to help you figure things out, his book, Relationship rescue, provides the next best thing. While it is always recommended to go seek counseling, it may not always be feasible. What makes many efforts to save relationships fail is that there is no action taken. Dr. Phil insists that if your relationship is to be saved, then both parties must work to save it. Any marriage counseling or relationship advice that anyone will give you will let you know that work is involved.

Just looking at those headings you know that it is going to require some serious work and thinking that will be well worth it once you see an improvement in not only your perceptions of the relationship, but in the relationship itself.

Dr. Phil's Relationship Rescue also encourages people to change their perspective of the relationship from a negative one to a positive one. Most people make things out to be worse than they are. Changing one's viewpoint of the other in the love relationship may help them see that the problems may be as bad as first thought.

Dr. Phil, as always, gives common sense relationship advice that requires some hard thinking and some hard work. There are millions of people who have taken his advice that he gives in this book and seen dramatic improvements in their lives. If you don't have the patience or the time to read his Relationship Rescue book, there is an abridged audiobook available that makes the information easy to understand but also helps in that you get to listen to his sound advice in his own voice.

Nokia's XpressMusic Series - 5800

I recently bought a new smartphone - the Nokia XpressMusic 5800. I must say its a really sweet phone where you can download apps from the Nokia Ovi Store, sync your contacts, music and other media and a lot of other stuff.

Today's guest article is a review of the Nokia XpressMusic 5800.

Nokia had previously released the 7710 which is technically it's first touch phone but due to certain unfavorable features and other reasons unknown, the 7710 was a total failure. The 5800 ExpressMusic is a winner from every angle and for once,Nokia fans can rejoice at the 5800 ExpressMusic's brilliance. A hybrid between touch phones and music phones, the 5800 ExpressMusic is doing extremely well in the market and rightly so.

Living up to its music phone tag, the 5800 ExpressMusic has volume keys at its side apart from 3 other keys on the front panel. The screen is a brilliant 3'2 inches which is in fact what most true touch phones are equipped with. The 3'2 inch screen offers a stunning 640x360 display resolution and it's quite unbelievable that a music phone can offer you so much for such little. The 5800 ExpressMusic is also fitted with a stylus which snugly fits in the back and can be used for precision.

Using the latest S60 platform that Nokia has released till date, and with the trademark Nokia Symbian OS version 5, operating system wise the Nokia 5800 is comparable to the larger N97.

An essential of a music phone is a large storage space and the Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic does not disappoint you as it comes with a whopping 8 GB internal memory expandable to 16 GB with the microSD slot that is provided. The camera is the 3.12 usual Nokia affair with the Carl Zeiss lenses, LED flash and autofocus. The inbuilt picture editor comes as a fun bonus and it's a surprise as even many of the so called camera phones don't afford this feature.

You can't expect more from a music phone but the 5800 is further armed to the teeth to take on any phone from the whole range of segments. JAVA and Flash enablement for browsing, and of course Wifi 802.11 and Bluetooth V.2 are also included for easy connectivity and data transfer. Calling the Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic a music phone is actually not justified as it can just as well do everything that a mobile computer can. PDF viewer, Excel and word sheets and TV output complete the 5800 ExpressMusic's awesome arsenal.

The only feature missing in this music phone and yes the only one at all is the Nokia OVI features which allows for GPS navigation but this can be overlooked as voice command navigation and self location is made available with additional software upgrades.

The Nokia 5800 ExpressMusic is arguably the best value for it's money. Weighing a mere 109 grams and providing 35 hours of non stop music playback, I'd go for the 5800 Expressmusic with my eyes closed. Price? $350!

Rihanna Rude Boy Official Video

Rihanna just dropped the official video for Rude Boy off her latest album Rated R.

I haven't bought or listened to the album because Rihanna right now is nowhere in my priorities in terms of music. I used to like her but lately I think she's trying to hard for attention or something. I still bump Hard though. That song is fire.

My expectations for Rude Boy was that it would bring out some of that dancehall flavor that we want to hear from the Caribbean native. However, its still pretty much R&B but the video does bring that dancehall vibe.

After listening to it, I would have to say that the song would have to grow on me and the video despite at times having up to 5 Rihannas and some stuff that 13 year old boys would get wet dreams off of, doesn't really evoke much emotion from me.

Alright, that doesn't in anyway have much to do with who I am, except that if ONJ was talking to me, I'd be like "hell yeah!"

Facebook Will Automatically Index All Your Information on Google?

Actually, Google will automatically index your Facebook profile so that people who search Google can find your Facebook.

All your information isn't indexed however because you would have decided what you want your people who aren't your friends to see. The same info that non-friends see is what Google indexes. Google would not index your phone number or email address if you've managed your settings correctly.

Of course if you don't want Google to index your profile, the option to do something about this is in your hands.

All you need to do is adjust your privacy settings.

If you don't want Google to automatically index all your Facebook info, just log into your account and:

Go to Settings.
Click on Privacy Settings or Manage Privacy
Click on Search
Uncheck "Allow indexing"

Furthermore Facebook has this to say:

Sony Cybershot DSC W220 Review

I bought a Sony Cybershot DSC W220 digital camera today. Its one of the light blue ones and I was sold on the fact that it was a 12.1 MP camera with 4x optical zoom. Most of the other ones only had 3x optical zoom.

So far, since I've been playing with it, I think I really like its simplicity and all the features that it has. Here's a review of the Sony Cybershot DSC W220.

The Sony Cybershot DSC W220 is up against some pretty stiff competition. Panasonic, Olympus and Nikon all produce digital cameras that are in direct competition with the Cybershot DSC W220.

This camera is small enough to slip into most pockets. It is mid priced. The design is unfussy and has that typical rectangular look. Sony offers the camera in three different colours: black, silver and light blue.

When looking at the other cameras in this category Sony has added in a fair number of features for the price. These include face detection for better portrait shots and image stabilisation to help compensate for any movements of the camera caused by unsteady hands. The Cybershot DSC W220 is also one of the few small cameras to be able to accept a conversion lens and filters. A conversion lens can increase the length of the lens or increase the wide angle capabilities of the camera. Using filters can add different effects to your photos.

There are resolutions that allow you to take photos that are ideal for printing 6 x 4 inch snapshot photos or for making wide prints or playing back on a widescreen television. For close up work the Cybershot DSC W220 can focus from an impressive 4cm. As well as offering the standard movie modes you are also able to produce High Definition movie clips. This does not make the Cybershot DSC W220 a replacement for your camcorder, but it can come in handy from time to time.

One area that digital cameras struggle with is the dynamic range of a photo. This is how well the camera can bring out detail in the lighter and darker areas of a photograph, especially when there are high levels of contrast in a shot. To try and help the camera Sony has introduced a dynamic range enhancer that can be turned on and off. Other features include being able to boost colours with a vivid colour setting as well as being able to switch to black and white or sepia.

More advanced features include a burst mode that allows you to fire off up to 100 high speed shots. There are also three types of metering at your disposal (Multi Pattern, Centre weighted, Spot).

When it comes to picture quality one of my biggest concerns was that Sony has packed so many pixels onto such a small sensor that some areas of my pictures were prone to show pixilation. This is where pixels start to look jagged and if you blow the picture up to a large size you can start to make out groups of pixels. This can detract from the overall smoothness of a shot. You may find that picture quality actually improves when shooting at lower resolutions.

The 12 megapixels Sony has packed in can come in handy if you are thinking of cropping any photos before printing. Another advantage is that additional zoom becomes available when shooting at lower resolutions.
The 4x zoom lens is a little wider than most digital cameras offer. This helps you when taking wide scenes such as landscape shots.

Picture quality fell below what some direct competitors offer. As well as the pixilation I noticed purple fringing could become an issue. I could see purple lines added to the tops of trees for example or if I was taking close up shots of shiny objects. The sharpness of the pictures was also a little down on what I am used to seeing. In fairness these problems only really become an issue if you are planning to make larger prints. At snapshot size you are unlikely to really notice these imperfections.

Rihanna was criticized for going back to Chris a short time after but eventually chose to leave. Chris Brown was sentenced to 6 months of community service among other things for assaulting the Bajan singer.

The other night while watching Comedy Central, I saw an ad for The Edge, a new 3 cd set filled with a lot of rock cuts that you'd instantly recognize.

They're some of the biggest hits of this decade (and the 90s) and The Edge has them on 3 cds. 50 tracks in all. I immediately went looking for the cd online and found it at MusicSpace.com.

The Edge has an incredible tracklist but I think there should be more. Still its a good collection of hits that I like banging out to. You can load this into the Cd changer in the car or pop one in while you work out.

Today, a lot of people are wondering about Google's spelling on it's homepage. The Google logo apparently has two ls where it should only have one.

Its not hard to figure out why this is. Just hover your mouse over the log and you'll see that it says "Google's 11th birthday."

So there it is. This month makes 11 years since Google got online in September 1998. Google usually changes its logo in honor of events such as holidays like Christmas and Halloween and major events such as this one.

10 Tweets Review: Surrogates

This week we look at the new Bruce Willis sci-fi thriller Surrogates. The movie opens against another sci fi flick, Pandorum and a remake of the 80's dance flick, Fame. I chose to review Surrogates because its the only one I'm really interested in seeing.

Movie goers caught Surrogates early and reported via Twitter in this weeks edition of 10 Tweets.

Surrogate got a solid 8.5 out of 10 so it seems movie goers really seem to like this movie a lot. Not bad at all.

Its seems Kid Cudi's new album, Man on the Moon, has been leaked to internet torrent sites. Several sources are reporting that the album has been downloaded thousands of times.

Opening this week is the movie, Gamer. The movie is directed by the guys who did Crank. I personally loved that movie and if they bring that kind of feel to Gamer then this should be a great movie.

Man Slaps Child in Walmart

Its not even his own child. 61 year old Roger Stephens slapped a 2 year old child in Walmart for crying.

He had told the mother to stop the child from crying or he would do it. He wasn't bluffing as he proceeded to slap the child about 4 or 5 times in the face.

This happened at a Walmart in Georgia. Stephens was arrested and charged with felony cruelty to children.

I hope this dude isn't in care of any small children because his way of disciplining them is over the top and brutal especially when you consider that children cry. They get uncomfortable and they cry.

I think this is what should happen to Mr Stephens.

Go Girl Lets Women Stand Up and Pee

Its a new device called the 'Go Girl' and it lets women pee standing up. It comes in a tube and when the woman feels the urge to 'go' she can just adjust her clothes, pull out her...um...'Go Girl' and just do it. Standing up!

The 'Go Girl' is reusable, easily stored and is only available in the US and Canada through the company's website.

So the next time you see a woman 'going' standing up, she's either got a 'Go Girl' or she's not who you think 'she' is.

Chupacabra Found in Barn

The mythical Chupacabra which means "goat sucker" was supposedly found in a Texan barn.

The creature gets its name from feeding on the blood of livestock and is believed to be only a myth like Bigfoot and the Loch Ness Monster.

Maybe this is really the Chupacabra or maybe it isn't. Whatever it is its pretty strange...and dead. It looks kinda like a dog with unusually large fangs but it isn't because of its long front legs, lack of hair and leathery skin.

Looking for an easy way to make some money online? Online surveys might be one option but it depends on how much you're really looking to earn.

Online surveys can be fun but there are somethings you need to know if you're going to try participating for money.

1. Online surveys don't pay much - maybe you're looking for opportunities to quit your day job or earn a little extra to help out with a car payment. Don't rely on online surveys though because they usually pay very little - often between 10 cents to $0.50. On rare occasions you might get surveys that pay $5.00+ but you do have to qualify and they take a longer time period, sometimes up to an hour or over several days.

2. Benefits US residents - most paid online surveys are only open to residents of the United States and Canada. International users may sign up in some cases but opportunities for surveys are less so you won't get paid as much.

3. Watch out for scams - There are some sites that will ask you to pay for a list of surveys. They coerce you to sign up by promising you would make outrageous sums of money which is far from the truth. All these sites are scams (see reason #1). You can find lists of surveys for free if you visit Yellow Surveys.

4. You're screened - not everyone will qualify for the surveys a company sends since surveys are essentially used as market research. You will have to pass a screening in most cases if you want to qualify for a moderately high paying ($5.00+) survey.

5. Cash or Voucher? - Some surveys insist on sending you shopping vouchers instead of cash once you qualify to get paid. You have to get to a minimum payout before you can cash your earnings, which then may not seem so exciting unless you shop at Amazon a lot.

These are just a few of the reasons why online surveys for money may not be worth it. But you can still try them as they can always be fun.

Tips to making online surveys for money work:

Create a separate email address for signing up to surveys and sign up for a lot of them.
Devise a way to get through the screening process without getting disqualified. Usually, you will find patterns after being disqualified for a few.
Discard the ones that are a waste of time for you.
This is the most important of all - participate in the referral program if they have one. If you like the survey program you might want to refer your friends, family and even strangers. This is a great way to make more money each month than the surveys by themselves will make you.

If you're looking however to make a lot more money than surveys can offer, you might want to look into doing affiliate marketing. Here's a great article on how to become an affiliate marketer.

Thousands of fans showed up to show their support for the Grammy Award winner.

Michael Jackson Alive Video Was a Hoax

An obvious one too.

The video which hit the internet last week, was done by a German television station as an experiment. The experiment was too show how easy it was to spread rumors on the internet.

We sent out a press release before we did the video to alert everyone that it was fake, but once posted it spread really fast.

The video which showed Michael Jackson hopping out the back of the coroners van created a big stir on Thursday and was even shown on late night television.

Although some people hopelessly believed the hype, this was so obviously fake. Michael Jackson died at the age of 50 on June 25th.

Now that its out that the video was a fake, there are mixed reactions. Some people thought it was a cruel and insensitive joke while others thought it was a very good trick.

DJ AM Found Dead

DJ Am also knows as Adam Goldstein was found dead in his 210 Lafayette Street apartment in New York City today.

Last September, Goldstein and former Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker narrowly escaped death when a plane they were travelling on crashed in South Carolina.

Details are still unclear but according to Police sources its possible the disc jockey overdosed on drugs as drug paraphernalia was found near his body.

According to the TMZ report, a rep for DJ AM issued the following statement:

Adam "DJ AM" Goldstein was found deceased this afternoon in his New York City apartment. The circumstances surrounding his death are unclear. Out of respect for his family and loved ones, please respect their privacy at this time.

Alli Causes Liver Damage Warns FDA

The United States Food and Drug Administration is warning that the weight loss drug orlistat, which is marketed under the names Xenical and the over the counter Alli, may cause serious liver damage.

Alli first became available in the US in June of 2007 after it became the first weight loss drug approved for over the counter use.

The way orlistat works to promote weight loss is it reduces calorie intake by blocking the absorption of fat in the stomach and small intestines. It's effectiveness is definite but as with nearly all weight loss pills, it comes with a price.

The most common side effects of Xenical and Alli are oily spotting, flatus with discharge, fecal urgency, fatty/oily stool, oily evacuation, increased defecation, and fecal incontinence, which is another way of saying that the drug can cause uncontrollable greasy diarrhea

On August 24, the FDA reported that it would investigate 30 cases of liver damage reported between 1999 and October 2008 in patients taking orlistat, including six cases of liver failure.

Safe Weight Loss

Why risk your long term health health by using unsafe weight loss practices. Pills usually come with risky side effects and can cause irreversible damage.

The IHC or the Institute for Human Continuity is as real as the characters in the new Roland Emmerich film, 2012.

Now whether or not you believe the world is going to end on December the 21st, 2012, this is just a movie. And the IHC is just a fictional organization from the movie.

Sony who distributes 2012, created a site for the Institute for Human Continuity as part of a viral marketing campaign for the film and it works great. It plays into the fears of many who don't know what to believe.

The site, is really detailed and has the feel of a real organization and it can be really scary when they play out the 2012 end of the world theories where celestial bodies crash into the earth. Makes you want to actually consider that the world may very well come to an end in 2012, which of course would make the movie all the more interesting.

This video is going around a lot lately in which someone who looks like Michael Jackson appears to be coming out the back of the coroners van.

The person who uploaded the video to LiveLeak.com also posted this message:

This video shows that Michael was still alive after his dead body was transported to the Los Angeles Dept. of Coroner I checked the license plate number and it looks like the King of Pop is jumping out of the same van, his dead body has been in. I got the original video tape from a trustworthy source. I know him for years. And I am sure it´s real and Michael is alive.

Not sure if I believe it. There would have to be much more convincing evidence than this to make me a believer.

The conspiracy theories were expected though. After all, I couldn't believe when I heard that MJ had died. Of course, they would give him the Elvis treatment. For all we know he's chillin' somewhere with Tupac and they're going to be putting out an album together.
